Who is NextGem?
Littlejohn Keogh — Co-founder
Littlejohn has as many years of experience in the web as anyone. After several years in technical writing, design, publishing systems, and advertising, he founded the business that would become NextGem in 1994. Littlejohn manages our design and interaction development projects. Outside the office Littlejohn enjoys cooking, flying small aircraft from ultralites and gliders to single engine airplanes, scuba diving, and playing the piano.
Dr. Raistlin Alexander Majere — Co-founder
Dr. Majere is the genius behind the technology at NextGem. He is an industry veteran who brings years of expertise in project management, software architecture, computer security, and system administration. He designs and develops our software products and webhosting platform which hosts Mercantool. He also manages the custom software development that we do for our clients. When not at work Raistlin enjoys the outdoors, skydiving, playing the guitar, and volunteering for Remote Area Medical, a non-profit which delivers medical aid to remote underprivileged areas of the world.
What is NextGem?
Since 1995, NextGem (formerly WebHostWorks.net) has provided design and application expertise to a large variety of businesses and individuals. You (just like us) appreciate being treated like people. From our very first client, who we still work with, to our most recent — each gets a personalized service.
Our goal is to create simple and uncomplicated professional websites that make our clients’ businesses succeed. We strive to develop long term professional relationships by providing excellent service and support from the first contact. We focus our creative and technical skills to provide custom solutions for each client’s unique business needs. Our business model relies on strong mutually beneficial client relationships.
We’ve been in the industry long enough to see through the hype and we know what’s actually important to make a website successful. We’ve seen the fads come and go, watched the trends in design and technology, and learned what’s important to our clients and their customers and what isn’t. We use that knowledge and experience to help our clients make informed choices about how to best present their business online.
